How to use Organic Rosehip Oil (Benefits & Uses)

When it comes to fighting acne, getting rid of fine lines and removing the signs of aging, there is no better product to use than Rosehip Oil. Filed with antioxidants, fatty acids and vitamins, Rosehip Oil is an excellent addition to your beauty cabinet.

Known as a generally mild oil, Rosehip Oil is pressed from the fruit and seeds of rose plants. It also contains phenols (a chemical compound) that are known to have antiviral, and anti-fungal properties making it an excellent healer for the skin.

With so many reasons to love Rosehip Oil, we’ve gone ahead and listed the different ways we use it!

1. How to use Rosehip Oil for the Skin

Rosehip Oil is a great moisturizer. It has hydrating fatty acids in it which, along with water, is the main ingredient in many moisturizers! So next time you finish your evening skincare routine, look no further than Rosehip Oil as an amazing alternative to traditional your moisturizer.

To use Rosehip Oil as a Moisturizer:

  • For the morning: Add one drop of Rosehip Oil to your hand and mix with your traditional cream moisturizer.  Let it soak into the skin and then apply your spf and makeup.
  • For the evening: Apply the Rosehip Oil directly to your face with a cotton round and let it soak into your skin, removing any excess oil before you go to sleep. No need to use a cream moisturizer, the Rosehip Oil is enough!

2. How to use Rosehip Oil for Anti-Aging

Rosehip Oil has wonderful anti-aging properties. Rosehip Oil is high in antioxidants, making it easier for the oil to penetrate deep into the skin to improve hydration levels and reduce visible signs of aging.

  • First, clean your skin with an a cleanser.
  • From there, use an exfoliant or a toner to remove all makeup and dead skin
  • Next, add a 2-3 drops of Rosehip Oil to your finger or a cotton round and gently dab on the areas where you see noticeable fine lines.

Something to note is, you will see the best results if you use Rosehip Oil before you even see fine lines and wrinkles appear! Rosehip Oil is an an incredible preventative anti-aging product.

3. How to use Rosehip Oil for Acne

Rosehip Oil is good at fighting acne. Many people with acne prone skin shy away from oils because they fear that it will clog their pores, but Rosehip Oil is known as a dry oil, meaning it won’t leave an oily residue on the skin. It has a blend of soothing ingredients that calm inflammation that comes with acne, leaving you with softer, and even more nourished skin!

  • First, cleanse the skin
  • Then we recommend adding one dash of Organic Rosehip Oil, one dash of Organic Jojoba Oil and one dash of an essential oil (like tea tree oil) to a bowl and mixing together, then gently rub into the skin. *Note you may have some excess which can be used for future uses.

Rosehip Oil and Jojoba Oil are known as carrier oils, used to help dilute essential oils. We recommend using tea tree oil as it is inherently antibacterial and anti-fungal, it is a great option for those that are looking to improve their skin and reduce the occurrence of acne breakouts.

4. How to use Rosehip Oil To Brighten the Skin

Rosehip Oil is great at brightening the skin and evening out your skin tone. Rosehip Oil has astringent properties that help to tighten the pores, and brighten your skin. Because of this, it’s also great at getting rid of the dark spots on your face and help fade scars because of the fatty acids and vitamins A and C in our oil!

  • First begin by cleansing the skin
  • Second, use a toner or an exfoliant to remove all excess makeup and leftover skin on the face.
  • Third, apply 2 drops of Rosehip Oil to your finger and gently dab or massage the Rosehip Oil into your dark spots. Repeat at least 3-4 times a week for the most noticeable results!

5. How to use Rosehip Oil For Your Hair

Rosehip Oil is a great way to hydrate your hair. This oil is an excellent source of essential fatty acids that aid in the repair and renewal of damaged hair follicles and scalp tissue to promote healthy hair growth.

  • Heat your Rosehip Oil for 10 seconds in the microwave and massage into your hair
  • Wait 30 minutes and wash your hair with regular shampoo

And while Rosehip Oil is a generally mild oil, that’s safe for all skin types, we recommend doing a patch test on your skin to make sure you aren’t allergic. To apply, first place a small bit of oil on your forearm or wrist and blot the oil into your skin. After 24 hours, if your skin has no signs of irritation, you are safe to use!

As is any skincare routine, we recommend using Rosehip Oil at least 2-3 times a week on a consistent basis to see noticeable results!

Based on these reasons it’s clear that Rosehip Oil is an incredibly versatile product, and is one of the best all over natural and healing oils. When looking to buy an oil, we recommend making sure your Rosehip Oil is organic and cold pressed meaning none of the beautiful elements were taken out of the Rosehip when the oil was made!

Many uses for the rosehip oil!

I love this rosehip oil! I added some to my jojoba oil (also from Clliganic) that I use as a facial moisturizer and also added some to a coconut oil/tea tree oil mixture which I put on my toenails every night to keep toenail fungus at bay. So far so good!

Awesome

It works really great and it didn’t break me out at all!
