Winter Wonders Foot Cream

Ideal for the spa lover in your life, this DIY is deeply invigorating and moisturizing. It’s all-natural and made from shea butter, jojoba oil, and essential oils.

What you’ll need:

  • ½ cup of shea butter (refined and deodorized or raw virgin)
  • 2 teaspoons of jojoba oil
  • 6 drops of peppermint essential oil
  • 3 drops of lemon essential oil
  • 3 drops of ylang ylang essential oil
  • Small glass jar with tight-fitting lid
  • Ribbon for decorating

 How to make it:

  1. Combine shea butter and jojoba oil, add essential oils and mix with an electric mixer until smooth and buttery in consistency.
  2. Scoop the mixture with a spatula into the glass jar.
  3. Seal tightly with a lid and decorate with ribbon.

Sugar Body Scrub

Dry winter skin leaves everyone needing exfoliation and nourishment. This recipe uses sugar, coconut oil, and essential oils to remove dead skin and moisturize. It’s the perfect gift for anyone in need of a little TLC.

What you’ll need:

  • ½ cup of sugar
  • ¼ cup of coconut oil (melted and cooled)
  • 4 drops of cedarwood essential oil
  • 2 drops of orange essential oil
  • 3 drops of cinnamon essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon of dried lavender flowers
  • 4 oz glass jar
  • Ribbon or bow for decorating

How to make it:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and then spoon into the glass jar and seal with a tight-fitting lid.

  3. Triple the recipe to make three gifts!
Lavender Lip Balm

Peppermint Lavender Lip Balm

What’s a gift that keeps on giving? Lip balm! Perfect for soothing chapped lips all winter long, your family and friends will love the minty-floral flavor of this recipe.

What you’ll need:

  • Lip balm tubes or tins
  • Mini whisk
  • Double boiler
  • Kitchen scale
  • 11 grams of beeswax
  • 14 grams of shea butter (refined and deodorized or raw virgin)
  • 20 grams of vanilla-infused jojoba oil
  • 1 gram of buriti oil 
  • 8 drops of peppermint essential oil 
  • 5 drops of lavender essential oil

 How to make it:

  1. Measure the beeswax and shea butter and place on the top of a double boiler, and wait until the mixture is completely combined and melted.
  2. Add the vanilla-infused jojoba oil and stir with the whisk.
  3. Remove from heat and add buriti oil, peppermint essential oil, and lavender essential oil and stir.
  4. Pour into your lip balm tubes or tins.
  5. Allow to cool for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Wrap and surprise your friends!

Holiday Magic Soy Candle

Give the gift of coziness and warmth. This DIY candle recipe reminds us of holiday memories with aromas of pine and cinnamon. Plus, the recipe makes 4 candles, so there’s more happiness to go around.

What you’ll need:

  • Three 4 oz glass canning jars (feel free to reuse existing candle jars)
  • 3 cups of soy wax
  • 3 candle wicks
  • 5 drops of balsam fir essential oil
  • 5 drops of cinnamon essential oil
  • 3 drops of nutmeg essential oil
  • 3 drops of clove bud essential oil
  • Ribbon for decorating

How to make it:

  1. Pour 1 cup of soy candle wax in an empty coffee can.
  2. Set the coffee can in a stock pot and add a small amount of water.
  3. Bring the water to a slow simmer until the wax in the can melts.
  4. Stir the wax with a spatula until it is completely liquid no lumps.
  5. Cut the candle wick to 4 inches over the height of the 4 oz glass jar.
  6. Wrap the extra candlewick end around a pen or pencil and balance it over the jar so the wick is centered and straight.
  7. Carefully pour the melted wax into the glass jar, ensuring the candle wick remains upright.
  8. Add all essential oils before the candle sets.
  9. Repeat steps 1 to 5 with the remaining two candles.
  10. Let candles cool and solidify for approximately 2 hours.
  11. Once set, unwrap the pen or pencil from the candle wick and cut the wick to the desired length. Decorate with ribbon and gift away!

Into the Woods After Shave

Not sure what to get for the men in your life? This DIY recipe has a wonderfully musky scent and works to soothe dry or irritated skin after shaving.

What you’ll need:

  • 2 oz lotion bottle 
  • ½ teaspoon of jojoba oil
  • ½ teaspoon of witch hazel
  • 3 drops of vitamin E oil
  • 7 drops of patchouli essential oil
  • 3 drops of cedarwood essential oil
  • Distilled water

How to make it:

  1. Add all ingredients to the lotion bottle, filling the remaining space with distilled water.
  2. Shake the bottle until ingredients are incorporated.
  3. Decorate with ribbon and provide instructions to the giftee: add a small amount of after shave to your hands, rub hands together, and apply to newly shaved skin.
