Find Your Certificate of Analysis (COA)

Every Cliganic essential oil has a lot number. That number connects your bottle directly to its GC/MS test results, which are on the COA. You’ll find the lot number printed on both the box and the bottle. Enter the 4 numbers that appear after the letter “A” into the search bar below to view the COA.

GC/MS test results are only available starting in 2023.
If your oil’s COA is not published yet, please contact customer service: support@cliganic.com

Frequently Asked Questions

Essential oils are naturally complex. Their composition can vary depending on factors such as climate, harvest timing, growing region, and distillation method. We run GC/MS testing on every lot of our essential oils to confirm quality and purity.

GC/MS testing helps us:

  • Verify purity by reviewing the oil’s chemical profile.
  • Confirm botanical identity by comparing it to known reference standards.
  • Check consistency across lots.
  • Provide transparency so you can see the results for yourself.

GC/MS stands for Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry. It’s a trusted laboratory method for analyzing the natural chemical makeup of essential oils.

Here’s how it works:

First, Gas Chromatography (GC)
A small sample of the oil is gently vaporized and carried through a long, coated column by an inert gas, often helium. As it travels through the column, the oil’s natural components separate based on their interactions with the coating and their rate of movement.

Then, Mass Spectrometry (MS)As each component exits the column, it enters the mass spectrometer. There, the molecules are ionized and fragmented. These fragments are sorted by their mass-to-charge ratio, creating a unique pattern known as a mass spectrum.

Each GC/MS report includes:

  • A list of naturally occurring aromatic constituents.
  • The relative percentage of each compound.
  • A chromatogram, which visually represents the oil’s chemical profile.

Together, these details help confirm that the oil aligns with its expected botanical profile.

By testing every lot and sharing the results, we aim to make purity, quality, and consistency transparent, not just promised.
